Hey! Hey! Hey! SAY!

What started off as a simple fixation quickly developed to an obsession. Hm, is that the right choice of words? Obsession sounds so… unhealthy. Then again, I doubt my mind has ever been completely sane. You might recall a post I did a couple of weeks ago where I expressed my newfound love for Hey! Say! JUMP. It’s only logical that I do the usual introductory paragraph and describe the group and each me- Who am I kidding? I don’t have the skill required to pull off a decent post. Can’t I just mindlessly squeal about them?

Come on, look at that! Any coherent thought I could had at the moment has evaporated and gone off to the clouds.

Since I’m too lazy to even write a proper description about them, go follow this if you’re curious. I’ll stick around and go do that “mindlessly squeal about them” thing I mentioned previously.

To start off, let me admit I know almost nothing about JE. Imagine my surprise when I found about all those Jr. groups. There’s still a lot of material I need to see but I can difference each member and know a little bit of their history before HSJ. Strange thing is, all that took to make consider myself a fan of them was the making of UMP. Normally I stay away from making ofs. Recently in H!P PVs they’ve done nothing but bore me. Maybe I’ve been watching the wrong ones or I’ve seen too much footage of the girls that it feels repetitive. I’m sure there are a couple of good ones out there but I don’t have the interest to search for them any time soon. Meanwhile with HSJ even if I can’t understand what exactly they’re saying both making ofs keep me entertained and even by their actions I can understand what they’re doing.

Considering the small amount of footage I’ve seen of the boys most of the things I’ll say will be personal. The best way for me to spampost about them will be dividing each one individually.

Let’s start with HSBest.

Yabu Kota: At first I didn’t know what to think of him. I didn’t know any of their personalities and his face creeped me out a bit. In the sense that he looked… well, mean. It’s mostly his eyebrows and his face structure. I found some concert pictures of him and I started finding him strangely cute. My favorite expression of his is that sad “chu” kissy face. Maybe it’s the sadist in me. He tends to furrow his eyebrows a lot in a expression that looks more “Do I really have to do this? I guess I’ll smile.. eheheh…”. However, he can be just as spazzy and adorable as the other members. In a way, Yabu is strangely charming to me.

Oh and why did nobody tell me he was so adorable as a kid?

Yaotome Hikaru: Soli wants him to Mike Tyson her. Sort of. I do not lie. Look!

Since she’s a bigger fan of his, I’ll give this section to her.

“Hikaru had a rocky start with me, mainly because of his teeth. Knowing that the majority of JE are quite… not that good looking for not wanting to sound rude, well… The real question was: why are they so popular anyway? Hikaru is an excellent example for me. At first I didn’t like him because -well, you know why – but then I started to get to see him often and I liked his personality – how he interacts with the other members and such, then his rapping… He came off kind of cool. Still, he wasn’t my ideal choice for a favorite, because I usually go for honeys like Chinen or Inoo. But it wasn’t until I saw pictures for when he was a smaller kid that, I don’t know, things sparked. I saw a completely other him. I’m not too sure what it was, but it was probably that kiddish/innocent/mischievous flare about that chibi Hikaru that made me like him a lot more. I joined everything I’ve thought about him (the good traits) with what ’sparked’ that likeness I have for him now and he was just perfect. To me, he’s the epitome of “fun” and “happiness”. Now I even consider his teeth adorable. They grow on you and that appearance detail is what probably adds that plus to his personality. When he wants to, he’ll come off either dorky, adorable or cool, but join all that together and he’s just full of win for me.”

Why must she always make me look bad?

Inoo Kei: For me, he’s one of the best looking in the group. For a change, he has a nice teeth. There’s only one tiny problem for me… his bangs. They annoy me. Can’t they give him another hairstyle? I really liked this picture because of that. Other than that I feel bad for him. He’s one of the members I want to know more about. Someone give me more footage of Inoo~! Need to brush up on J.J. Express. I feel guilty making this so short. D:

Takaki Yuya: Please don’t glare at me Takaki! This might sound a bit mean, but he has the type of looks I dislike. Sorry, I-… it’s his chin! He can pull off decent pictures the majority of times but when I saw the PV for Hey! Say! I was scared by his chin. It’s shallow, I know it. I’m trying to move on from that and whenever I see him pimping out the younger kids, my image of him improves. Yes, I want him to perverse the younger kids.

Seeing him in the Hey! Say! Making Of improved my opinion on him. I didn’t have much to go by with UMP because I could have sworn I saw him napping whenever he got free time.

Also, how can you be scared of pigeons?

Arioka Daiki: There are certain moments where he’ll pop out and do some crazy stunt that makes his personality endearing for me. I’m still getting to know him, and I’ve liked what I’ve seen so far. He’s adorable, spazzy and full of energy. I like to see him spazzing around with Yuto or Hikaru. Whenever they’re around, something is bound to happen. My favorite clip from the making of was when he was eating pudding and offered some to Hikaru some then took it back. It’s usually little details as these that I notice. Other examples are whenever the other members call him “Dai-chan” and then there’s the hairpins he wears. Cuuuute.

Nakajima Yuto: I want whatever drugs this kid is on.  Look at him go. Originally he was one of the members that caught my attention, how could he not? Most of the time he looks like to he’s hyped up on something. Then there’s that girly side of him whenever he laughs. Sometimes it’s fun to see him spazzing around while other times I want to shake him and tell him to calm down and breathe. There’s also that uh, mic thing he tends to do.

Could it be that he likes the shape? On a total unrelated note, I want to touch your euphoria too, Yuto. If that’s even possible.

Yamada Ryosuke: He’s one of the most popular ones, right? Initially he interested me most because Yama was one of the good looking ones. Only, nowadays, every time I see his face, it reminds of a hexagon. I can’t help it! He’s confident and that’s always nice but we prefer the moments where he’s being teased by others. We’re starting to tease him as well. When we watched his version of the Hey! Say! PV, we couldn’t help but feel he was about to cry. When he shouted “Say!” we were worried he would start bawling.

Chinen Yuri: Chinen. Chinen. Chinen! Gah, he’s a dream come true. He’s truly the shota type. I think I love every single thing about him. It’s too hard to describe it all! Singing, personality, looks, photos, all that. I’ve also convinced myself that’s he’s HSJ little secret/whore.

For example, I see Yuto, Daiki or Hikaru fool around and think, “Oh, that’s so crack-y! Hehehe” while with Chinen I can’t help but think there’s some insinuation in it. It could be because he looks innocent and naive so whenever he’s with someone else it looks like it came out of a manga. That and the times he has to jump or stand on his toes because he doesn’t reach attribute to this image. Then there’s that pretty voice of his… almost like a girl. It’s a plus.

Chinen, keep being your alluring, shota self.

Morimoto Ryutaro: I expected Mori to have a voice similiar to Yuto’s given the fact that he’s only 12. I’m secretly glad he doesn’t. I hadn’t noticed until Soli mentioned that in most of his pictures he has a tendency to look anxious, like a nervous animal. On stage, it’s totally different. He doesn’t appear to be afraid to talk. His body language still needs a little work though. In some performances he’ll put so much effort into it that some of the moves will look exaggerated. That’s one of the reasons I like him so much. I want to see him grow and develop. Is it me or doesn’t sound as if I was talking about a plant? XD; Another thing about him is that his appearance is usually the opposite of what I like. I didn’t put too much attention to him or think much of Mori. Whenever I see videos of him now I can’t help but think he’s an awkwardly cute kid and I love him for that.

Okamoto Keito: Wonky eyed idols are following me! It’s nothing like Reina’s eyes but it’s still pretty cute. Keito was sort of plain at first and we still don’t know much of him but even so, Keito has been scoring points with us in the odd ways. Spiky haired kids aren’t my thing until… Super Junior came along and created the shiwonhedgehog thing. Oh! And Monkey Eunhyuk too. So far, he’s the only one that has managed to capture our attention with his nipple. Here, look at it. Doesn’t it remind you of a kitten’s butt? Kekekeke~

Wow, this came out longer than I expected. I wonder if any of you are still down here reading this. One of these days I’ll have to do a picspam.
