Urata, MAI PIMP
January 26, 2008
As expected, my title has little to do with the actual post. Sort of. I’ll explain.
See that video? Okay, maybe you didn’t it. In any case, I’ll explain. I had heard of AAA before but never checked them out. What interested me most is that they were co-ed. Which is a nice change after being a fan of groups that prohibit their members to even stand close to people of the opposite sex like they’ll suddenly burst into flames. I might have exaggerated, but yeah, you get the idea.
Let’s skip to now. It’s sort of silly the way I came to find them. It started off with the PV of Q and after that I had forgotten to check up on then again. By accident I listened to a Kimono Jet Girl, then decided to look up the original version. My music taste could be questioned because I ended up loving the song. There was something about how messy it was and the strangeness of the PV that intrigued me. Maybe, one day we’ll be able to do the costumes.
Now, going back to the pimp thing. The style of Kuchibiru Kara Romantica was different from their other singles and I thought the PV was wonderful. My favorite part is when Atae takes out the gun. I was disappointed that nobody died in the PV. It’s not that I want to see any of them dead, I just wanted some tragedy in the plot. As for the Urata thing… I was surprised by his voice. By his image I thought he would be the rapper of the group (I blame Koki D:) but when I heard his voice… I don’t know. It’s pleasant.
I’ll finish this off this post with Dragon Fire.
It might be a cliché name for a song but there silliness of the video makes it my favorite. The first picture that I saw of AAA was the one for this single. I’m sucker for it. It reminds me of fighting games, for example Soul Calibur. Then there’s the little animated section, their faces on bodies of babies and AAA fighting in the most ridiculous ways. DBZ also comes to mind when they do their little power up. The song is incredibly catchy to me as well.
If you’re interested in them, check this out. I would post uploads myself, but when there’s already sites like those, there’s no point. Please check them out, they have various styles to their songs. Now I just need the money to buy their stuff.
…
Something that’s been bothering me… where the hell have I heard SUNSHINE before? I saw the PV and I was like “wtf I’ve heard this”… grr. It’s a fun song but it bothers me that I’ve heard it before but I can’t place it.
You’re not the only one to whom Sunshine is familiar. My reaction was the same. But maybe only some parts of the song is similar to sg.
It’s very popular amongst asian singers to sing european and american songs.
When I heard Super Junior singing Missin’ U which is one of the Spice Girls’ song, I almost fainted:D
Really? Never knew. When I was a kid I think I only heard 3 Spice Girls songs. XD
